Productive yet Relaxing

This weekend C and I finally got some furniture in our guest room. Since C has two friends that are single and like to have a good time we ended up putting two twin beds in the room. Baha always have to think about everyone else! I also put my vanity in there and some of my jewelry so that'll prob be my space to store most of that stuff as well.

Along with getting the room done we also put together one of my Xmas gifts. That was an adventure within itself! Jeesh! Although we did a lot of house work we did get time to relax. Friday night we had a date night that was very much needed! We went out to dinner then to Home Depot and back home to snuggle and watch a movie as the snow fell outside.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday as much as we did! For us the festivities began on Sunday with my family. C and I ended up doing very well for ourselves! 😊

Then the traveling began on Monday. After two days of eating and traveling to 4 different places I am just wiped. It was an excellent holiday and couldn't be more blessed to have such great families to spend it with!

We are very thankful for everything God has blessed us with on this very glorious day. Merry Christmas to all.

Engaged

I haven't posted in sooo long. So I thought what better post to write about after a long absence.

Wednesday night after work when I got home I followed a trail of candles and rose petals up the stairs with a longer pathway through the kitchen to Casey kneeling at the end with the ring in hand. Yes! He did finally propose! And he did it in such a cute way too! He had even said he was more nervous about the way he did it more so than actually asking. Haha he knew I wanted it to be special and it definitely was. He did a GREAT job! Love him!

He even recorded it on our computer for our family and friends to see later. So cute! I think I am still in complete shock and don't know what to do with myself.

I am beyond thrilled to be the future Mrs. Burns and could not be more blessed to have him in my life.

Sick

When I got home from work yesterday afternoon I got ready to meet a friend for dinner. Once I got out of the shower I felt off. I could hear that nasty rumbling in my tummy. Ugh. I knew it was some kind of bug.. I haven't been able to get out of bed since. I hate missing work and I had to miss today and ill have to miss tomorrow. This is definitely not what I planned for this weekend.

Little Abode

Last night C and I went out with the fam one last time while we were all together before Christmas. Since dad's birthday is approaching us he got to pick the place. So he chose Edison's. After dinner we came back to our little abode and C just had to have his friend Zac over to play Xbox on his new tv. Boys will be boys I suppose.

Today C and I went to pick up some furniture that was offered to us and then headed back to put some more things together with the house. Once that all seemed to be done it was time for me to go to the grocery store! Ugh even after spending a pretty penny on food our fridge still looks empty! I don't get it. Haha

We just finished watching The Campaign and now time for some Duck Dynasty. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Thanksgiving Fun

This holiday weekend has been packed full. Thanksgiving day the Lauchner crew participated in their 2nd year turkey trot 5k. I must say I did not do as well as I did last year and am still feeling it.. After our lil run we headed to grandmas to stuff ourselves full! It is always so nice to spend the holidays with such a great family! After we left one grandmas we traveled to the next. There we stuffed our faces again and enjoys each others company.

Once we left Greenville it was time for the Black Friday festivities to begin! Yes I am a crazy Black Friday shopper. A friend and I met up at target at 9 and tracked down some good deals. A vacuum for me a nice knife set for her plus a few more snags we couldn't pass up. After waiting in line FOREVER we went to Old Navy to see what we could find. Although I was on the lookout for a nice tv for the new house I didn't get much luck. However, my brother had snagged a voucher from a friend who had been waiting in line at Best Buy all day and managed to get me a 50" Toshiba tv for the living room! And it was such a great deal! Thank you Cale! After hitting up Old Navy we decided to call it night.

Last night and today C and I managed to get some more stuff done around the house. Our living room actually looks like a living room and the kitchen is nearly complete. We still needs few things but we have come a long way! We still need to do some painting but we can hold off on that for a while. It is so nice to just relax and lay around for a while.

1st Night

C and I spent our first night in our little home last night. My lovely parents and great friend Callie came over yesterday afternoon to help us paint the living room and bed room. I'm not going to lie I am not a huge fan of the living room color.. It looked ALOT different on the swatch then what it does on the wall. Oh well.. It will be staying until we decide to change it. Haha but the other room looks really good!

So while we were at it we decided to go ahead and get some stuff moved in. Our living room is still being worked on so the couch is just sitting in it still covered until the finishing touches are made on the floor. But we do have a bed and a kitchen table! Haha

This little place is definitely still a work in progress but at least we are through the hardest part.

Floors

Our floors are done as of today! However there are a couple boards in the living room that need to be fixed so those wont be done until next week. I will post pics of that room when it is 100% finished.

Below are the before and after pics of the bedroom floor. They look soooo much better! I can't wait to get in there and paint and start moving stuff in! I am hoping by this weekend we will have the majority of our stuff in.

As of last Thursday the Lauchner crew is signed up to get our trot on at the 3rd annual turkey trot 5k. I'm super pumped about it!! I can't believe it's already thanksgiving next week. This year has really flown by.

Painting

This past weekend C and I made an attempt to get a jump start on our painting duties at the house. The kitchen seemed like the easiest room to start in since we were keeping the color it already was just making a few tweaks. However once we got started little did we know what we had gotten ourselves into. Sunday we spent most of the day prepping and we finally got the entire room painted by that evening. Casey also had figured out the GFI plug in the bathroom which I was super pumped about! I'm so happy this little place is really starting to look like our own place!

Last night C and I finished up the kitchen by painting the base boards I can't believe how much cleaner the whole room looks! The kitchen is pretty much done, now onto the bedroom.

Back to Blogging!

WOW! I have been slacking in the blogging area lately.  I saw that my fellow co-workers Kar and Kel got back to blogging so I decided to jump on the wagon and do the same! I unfortunately have no pictures for this post but I promise I will for sure next post!

This past weekend C and I started working on the rental house my parents own that we will be moving into (hopefully soon).  After going and looking at it on Thursday we realized this is going to be quite the undertaking.  Friday night my mom and I started cleaning and then Saturday we majorly cleaned the entire upstairs.  The basement still needs quite a bit of cleaning. :(  We are hoping to get the floors refinished this week sometime and then possibly being able to paint next weekend and then on for the home stretch from there!

So I hope in my next post that I can share some of the progress with pictures.

Vacation is all I ever wanted..

Hello there...Saturday my family and I returned back from the sunny state of Florida.  We stayed in an ocean view condo in Crescent Beach about 15 minutes from the St. Augustine area. I must say it was beautiful weather especially for it being the week after the hurricane.  There were 14 of us total that all made the trip down and  we met up with some of my dad's cousins and their families and there were 16 of them.  Vacationing with 30 people can be very hectic and stressful at times but we survived and had a great time. I'm glad I came back with a nice tan and brought a lil bit of cooler weather with me! :)  I guess around here, last week was the perfect time to be gone.

Although vacation was fun I am glad to be home.  I missed my bed, boyfriend, and lil spastic pups!!  The summer is flying by quick. Pretty soon it will be over before we know it.  

Coming Along

I can't believe June is already almost over and July is quickly approaching.  Saturday my family leaves for St. Augustine, Florida.  I am super excited to relax and have a good time with my Dad's side of the family. 

This weekend was a ton of fun and really felt like summer.  My brother and I bought an inflatable beer pong table to take with us to Florida but of course we had to try it out first! :)  Friday night C and I went out to dinner with his friends and then went to Laurie's for a couple of drinks.  Unfortunately I had a horrible headache so we didn't get to stay too long.  But it was probably for the best since I had to work the next day.  After work on Saturday my bff texted me and said she wanted to go out.  So we got a group together and went to Fast Eddies.  It was surprisingly not as crowded as we had all anticipated which made it really nice to just let loose and have a good time.  Yesterday was a busy day.  I had to get up early and go to church then went to New Douglas with the fam for my dad's family reunion.  Afterwards I had a graduation party to attend.  It was such a hot day that the drinks were going down easy...maybe a little too easy.

Happy Fathers Day Pop!

I wanted to do this post in honor of my loving dad.  Even though we dont always see eye to eye on things, I dont know where I would be today without him.  He sure knows how to put a smile on my face! :)

Parents are meant to embarrass their children from time to time and that is exactly what my dad does, and let me tell ya.. he's a pro at it! But if he didnt embarrass the crap out of me then I dont know what kind of stories I would have to tell to my own children later.

Hello June...

May has come and gone and now June has approached us.  Summer is in full swing and all of our weekends are becoming jammed with fun summer activities.  These past couple of weeks we have attended a few homecomings in the area and went to a wedding celebration party.  C and I have also gotten to enjoy his lovely pool with some friends.  I am definitely excited to through a pool party out at his house and need to find a weekend to squeeze it in somewhere!

This next weekend my family is going to the Pagent to see the Irish band Flogging Molly.  I have to work Saturday and then we will be heading to Aviston, IL for my cousins graduation party. Jeesh! and we leave for Florida in about 3 weeks!  I love when weekends are packed with fun things! However, my weeks are getting the best of me.  I am trying real hard not to spend money, but I am becoming very bored.  I have already read through the Hunger Games Trilogy and now have started Fifty Shades of Grey.  I am already on the second book.  I need to find a hobby or do something productive with my time.

Summer is HERE!

These past couple of weekends in May have just been crazy busy.  We have one more fun filled weekend coming up and then we are already into June.  This past weekend I worked and then we celebrated my graduation with great friends.  It was a fun evening filled with laughter and celebrating.  This week I have quite a few days off.  I'm not complaining but I will get to enjoy some time to myself and relax. Today really felt like summer.  I went for a nice stroll on campus with my friend T and then after met up with another friend at the pool.  I'm ready for this summer and excited to see what it brings!

This past weekend C and I went on a lil vacay to Las Vegas with my parents.  We met up with my dad's best friend "Fro" or what I refer to him as "Uncle Baldy."  It was so great to get out and get away for a few days.  Although I lost some money I definitely enjoyed myself!

Hello Big Girl world!

I have officially ended one chapter of my life and started another.  As of Saturday I am now a college graduate with a big girl degree in Elementary Education.  Let me tell ya... it feels sooooo good! :) However unfortunately I have no big girl career that comes with that degree.  My idea is to substitute around the area until I eventually get a teaching job.  I also want to continue working at Treo (don't worry girls I'm not going anywhere! haha).   This summer I am just going to enjoy my time relaxing and accumulating as many hours as I can at the salon.  I am just going to let life take me where it wants me to go and hopefully end up in a great school district teaching my group of students.

Hurray for summer!

As of Thursday I am officially on summer break. It's so exciting to be done but also so sad and scary since I don't have a big girl job like I had hoped. But what can you do. Even though I am done in Collinsville I plan on going back quite often. Thursday is their big field trip of the year to the cards game and I'm def not going to miss that! Plus all the other fun stuff they have planned the rest of the year.

This weekend was both relaxing and fun. Friday night C and I ended up staying home and watching the movie Real Steel, I was fighting watching it because I thought it was going to be some dumb macho movie but I must say it had me crying at the end! Saturday night we went down town to celebrate one of C's closest friends birthday. We went to the Lumiere to loose some money and then finished off the evening at the Stadium bar and grill right across from the casino. So that was fun!

This week will be filled with cleaning and laying around and I am super pumped about it! Haha
