Happy Easter!

I can't believe it is already Easter and we are still down in the mid 40s and low 50s around here. Can't we get a lil break and get some high 60s weather!?! It is supposed to be nice tomorrow so hopefully it will be!

Last night C, I and some friends went to Edison's here in town to eat and bowl. It was a pretty good time even though C and I totally blew in bowling.

Tonight we are headed to the parentals to celebrate my birthday since my brother is in town for the holiday.

Thought I'd stop in and give a quick outfit post. This is what I wore to the salon tonight. We are required to wear black and gray and can add some pops of color here and there. So I went for more of a neutral color to add with the black.

MIA

I've been pretty MIA lately.  This week really just got the best of me and flew by.  I honestly couldn't have even told you what day it was if you had asked me.

Today we are getting bombarded with SNOW.  They have been saying 8-10 inches and I think they are going to actually be right about this winter storm.  It has not stopped or slowed down one time.  C and I have on our comfy clothes and have not left the house. I love those kinds of days.

Friday night C and I went to our local hangout.. Weezys, and met up with a few of his friends.  Typically I am the only girl that ever comes but this time one of the other girl friends was there so we got to talk and hang out a little bit.

I am very anxious to get this week over with and spend time with my family next weekend.  I love family get togethers!

Some Weekend...On the Brighter Side

Well this weekend definitely did not go according to plan.  I have not left my bed since yesterday morning due to a stomach bug.  I have just felt blah.  I am so blessed to have C who has been nothing but great and has gotten me everything I have needed.

On a brighter note...my family is attending a horse derby in Kentucky the weekend of April 19.  I am super pumped about it since I love going to the horse races.  Especially in Kentucky they do derby's BIG, and I plan to do the same.  I really want to wear a hat like most southern women do when they attend races.  Here are some options I have been looking at.

Date Night

Tonight C and I took a stroll up the river road and ate at the Fin Inn in Grafton. Since the weather was so nice today it was the perfect night to go. I love overlooking the Mississippi River in Grafton and each place in the cute little town gives you a perfect view. It was a definitely much needed evening!

Daily Look and What I'm Currently Craving

The other day on my break I was looking through a Seventeen magazine (Yes, I still read this magazine) and fumbled across this website they recommended.  It is called DailyLook and each day a new outfit is posted and it gives you a break down of the items so you can purchase them.  I am hooked! But then again what don't I get hooked on....I love that it gives me tons of inspiration and even better that I can order the pieces if I choose to.  Check it out!

As well as everyone else in the Midwest I'm sure, I am having some spring fever! I am super anxious about this upcoming "warmer" weather we are supposed to be getting later this week. Along with craving spring here are some current pieces I am currently craving.

Coral

Coral is the color of spring.  Since yesterday had definitely teased us with some warmer spring weather I decided to bust out some coral last night.  A group of us got together to meet E's "friend" Morgan from Texas last night. We met at the Villa Marie Winery in Maryville and they continued on out afterwards.  I love wineries and I esp love wine so I was super pumped when they said they were going there.

Today I trekked out to Gville with my brothers to visit my grandparents.  My grandma now has three cats that she has somehow taken under wing because she decided to feed them.  However if you ask her about them they are nothing but a bunch of dang cats and she wants to get rid of them, haha. They sure did keep us entertained while we were there this afternoon. We always leave grandma's with some type of memory. It is unfortunate that we live 45 minutes from them and just can't get the time to visit more often.

What I Wore: To Work

Currently I work two jobs.  One is full time at a daycare and the other I work a couple evenings and Saturdays as a receptionist at a salon.  I truly enjoy both jobs.  So today I worked at the salon.  I actually tried a top knot with the hair and mixed my new favorite colors together! Camel and Black. Please excuse my bedroom floor.  Tonights festivities include meeting my BF's new "friend" from Texas.

Supercross 2013

Saturday was pretty eventful for C and I. He had to head to fairview to get fitted for his tux for a friends wedding. I was really wanting to go to Jo-Ann's so I tagged along. On the way there I mentioned supercross being that night and C lightly acted like we should go. After they got their tuxes fitted we all went to lunch and there the guys all decided they wanted to go as well. So we got a group together ordered our tickets and went. It was such a good time. I think I had too much fun! ;)

Ottoman DIY

I've been wanting to do this DIY ottoman project for quite sometime now and today I finally did it.  There were two end tables left in the garage when we moved into our little abode and I didn't have any need for them. Then when I found this blog through pinterest I knew I had to give it a shot.  I did have to have a little help from my lovely fiancé C cutting the foam and gluing it on to the table.  It was also my first time using a stable gun! I'm a pro at it now :)


What I used:

to glue the foam and batting to the table

This is the fabric up close I found it at Jo-Ann's fabric for only $2.39 a yard.
Hard to see but the print is navy.
