C and I just got back from a loonnggg chaotic trip with C's family. We were both excited and ready for a lil getaway this weekend. But once we hit the airport things were just not going our way. Our flight was to leave StL at 6 for Chicago. However, because Chicago was getting pounded on with rain we got put on standby not once but THREE times. So we didn't end up leaving until 9:30. Then our lovely flight got delayed in Chigao until 11:50. So we didn't end up getting into Charleston until 3 am. By this time we were exhausted and fed up with flying.
When traveling in big groups it really just makes things very difficult to meet everyone's accommodations. At least on Friday we got to go to the beach for a bit. Which was a bit relaxing.
Friday evening we all went out to dinner and then hit up the town a bit. Because C and I were so tired and only running on a few hrs of sleep we decided to call it an early evening and head back.
Saturday was the day of the golf tournament. Which was really the main reason we were there. It was in honor of Casey's dad. C had a great time! I got to see and explore a bit of downtown Charleston while the guys golfed. It's a really neat and gorgeous place.
After golfing everyone headed out to the pavilion to hang out for a bit and unwind a little. Although it was incredibly humid and hot, no one was really enjoying themselves..
Yesterday we got up and headed out for a long haul. We made a pit stop in Hilton Head and then trecked it back home.
All in all C and I learned that when traveling with such a large group next time we will just make our own accommodations and figure stuff out on our own. Oh well you live and you learn.
