When I first started my maternity leave, I was itching to go back to work. Kevin is such an easy baby and slept a lot at first, so I was dying and looking for things to do. Once he started to be more alert and awake a bit more I cherished my time even more. This made it so hard to leave him once I had to go back to work. I was devastated! I begged C to let me stay home (some what jokingly).
Unfortunately I knew I had to go back and needed to suck it up. Because I know I'm not the only one to have to experience this and plenty of moms make it through.
That Tuesday after the new year was my first day back. Bubs was going to the sitters that day. Luckily she is the Mom of my best friend which made it much easier. I was a mess leading up to it and when the time came to drop him off I told myself not to cry. But once I started walking toward the door the tears came. My co-workers were really sweet about it and not bringing it up knowing it was a difficult transition.
Once Friday had hit, it was much easier to get moving and knowing I would get to be with my baby all weekend was a huge plus!
Thankfully my mom and the sitter send me pics throughout the day to help get me through.
He's just the sweetest baby!
